Karate instructor training

I"ve been training martial arts for over ten years. I"ve tried judo, taekwondo, hapkido and karate, but I think karate is best for me. I really love it, especially the kata which you can practice alone, but I also enjoy sparring classes. Last spring my instructors announced that some of us will have a possibility to take part in free instructor training. There were two kinds of courses: karate instructor for children and for adults. I don"t have the required grade to be a teacher for adult karateka (we have a belt grading system here), so I decided to enrol on the first course. The instructor training started on August 1st and lasted three weeks. The participants took part in lectures on teaching methodology and anatomy. Then we had some practical classes which were long and hard. They were actually very similar to our regular classes. After two weeks each of us was asked to present an example warm-up. We also had to learn how to make kids interested; teaching karate to children is very unlike teaching it to grown-ups. You have to think of many games and funny warm-up activities. You also have to have a good sense of humour. After three weeks, the instructor training was over. Now I have my own karate instructor ID! I"m starting my own course next month.
